Woke up to quite a surprise on the Sunday morning - it was RAINING!
Not just a few drops, but real rain!
There was a lovely fresh smell in the air and all the plants and trees looked green again as the months of dust was washed off.
In the afternoon it was back to sunny and 30c. Drove up to Yermasoyia dam to find just a puddle in the bottom. You could even drive your car in there. We desperately need more of the wet stuff. Despite tankers coming every day from Greece to bring water we still have regular water cuts.
This is where there should be water!
Met some friends at the Aphrodite Club and sang a few songs at the karaoke.
On Thursday I went with a Rotarian colleague and a member's wife to paint the toddler room at the Theotokkos Nursery. It was blue when we started, but ended up a lovely pale yellow colour. I got some animal sticker decorations for the walls. Just some cupboard doors left to do as the paint ran out but I will take some photos when it is all finished.
On Friday went to choir practice in Paphos, then had lunch with some members in a local taverna. The sky got blacker and we had yet more rain, I had to paddle back to the car - at least that was clean!
George has adopted a little dog belonging to our next door neighbours. They bought a pedigree dog and left it tied up outside on a short lead. It was occasionally taken for a walk, but very neglected. Now it has a new best friend!
It is taken for walks three times a day and is now clean and looked after. George is making it a kennel for the winter.
